"Automatic Control of Acetic Acid Fermentation Process" The project is going with many phases first of them is to study the concept of fermentation process and the steps of it. the second is to study the concept of process control and start to construct small model for the process with field devices, tanks, valves, sensors and actuators. so we make a bench scale model thirdly we make P&ID "Piping and instrumentation diagram " for the process to be our reference during installation of the system. PLC 1214 siemens was the main controller, PLC S7-300 siemens used as distributed I/O because 1/0 modules in PLC 1214 was limited, HMI siemens and Micro master 440 drive used also. Profibus protocol was used to connect among PLC 1214 and PLC S7-300 and motor Drive,Profinet protocol was used to connect PLC 1214 with HMI. TIA Portal 14 was used to program builder of PLCs, HMI and drive, it also used to construct SCADA system but as a simulation. Industrial control panel was implemented to control the whole process, it contained protection devices, PLCs, motor drives and relays. The project was sponsored by the Academy of Scientific Research and Siemens.
