Associate Dean Role: 1. Staff Management: • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations for staff members, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional development. Implement performance improvement plans when necessary. • Professional Development: Promote and support continuous professional development opportunities for staff, including workshops, seminars, and training programs. Encourage staff to pursue further education and certifications. • Conflict Resolution: Address and mediate conflicts among staff members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by implementing effective communication strategies and promoting teamwork. • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior faculty and staff, helping them navigate their roles and responsibilities within the institution. 2. Academic Matters: • Curriculum Development: Lead the development and review of academic programs and curricula. Ensure that programs are current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards and student needs. • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure that academic programs meet accreditation standards and comply with institutional policies and external regulations. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for accreditation reviews. • Research Support: Promote and support faculty research initiatives. Facilitate access to research funding, resources, and collaborative opportunities. Recognize and celebrate research achievements within the academic unit. • Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality education. Use data and feedback from students, faculty, and external stakeholders to inform continuous improvement efforts. 3. Student Matters: • Student Engagement: Promote student engagement and involvement in academic and extracurricular activities.
