About
I am an MCIPS and CSCP certified procurement and supply chain leader with 15 years of progressively diversified experience in the petrochemical and power generation industries. I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in strategic sourcing, contract lifecycle management, global sourcing, supplier relationship management, supply chain resilience, digitalization, and process improvement, as evidenced by a track record of consistent performance. For the last 2 years, I have been working as the Supply Chain Manager and de facto Head of Procurement at LOTTE Chemical Pakistan Ltd (formerly part of ICI Plc), where I lead procurement activities across all categories, including Raw Materials, Packaging, Catalyst, Bulk Chemicals, Fuel, MRO, CAPEX, Logistics, IT, Admin Supplies, Services & Contracts, with a combined annual spend in excess of USD 470 million. I am also responsible for supply planning, inventory management, inbound logistics, warehousing of MRO inventory, and the imports function (freight forwarding, customs, trade financing, international trade, and documentation). Previously, I spent 6 years as Procurement Manager, focusing on the MRO and CAPEX categories for the 0.5 MTPA Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant, as well as for the 50 MW power generation and transmission infrastructure. In addition to my professional certifications, I hold an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology (Karachi) and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (Karachi).

1. Managed strategic sourcing across Indirect spend categories – Technical Studies/Consultancy, Proprietary Oil & Gas Softwares, MRO, IT, Security, Camp & Catering, Outsourced Manpower, Drilling Waste Management, HSE, CSR, HR – with an annual spend of ~ USD 50 million. 2. Successfully negotiated the renewal of multi-million USD Integrated Drilling Waste Management Services contracts for all the locations across Pakistan which resulted in a cost avoidance of > USD 1 million. 3. Led the implementation of a favorable tax provision in the Security Services contract through cross-functional coordination with Taxation and Legal, delivering significant cost savings.

Supply Chain Manager
Karachi
1. Contributed to LTA negotiations for raw materials (Paraxylene & Acetic Acid) by conducting detailed analysis — including feedstock pricing, regional demand–supply balance, plant operating rates, new capacity additions, trade flows, freight rates, and substitute product demand — to determine the pricing “Alpha” in the formula. 2. Conducted detailed cost analysis to negotiate revised price formula with a key packaging supplier, scrutinizing manufacturing, admin, selling and financial expenses, and achieving a 51% reduction in the initially proposed profit margin to ensure cost efficiency. 3. Conducted a strategic Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis to evaluate the economic feasibility of introducing global sourcing for packaging materials versus the existing local sourcing model. 4. Strengthened supply chain resilience by securing Tier 2 supplier visibility for packaging materials and verifying regional storage hubs for critical chemicals, ensuring uninterrupted supply despite geopolitical risks. 5. Analyzed lead time variability and optimized safety stock levels for three critical chemicals, reducing inventory by 30 days and cutting annual holding costs by over USD 20K without compromising service levels. 6. Led the development of an alternate source for the supply of Soda Ash which not only improved cost competitiveness but also enabled us to reduce the month end inventory from 20 days to 15 days. 7. Introduced Material Requirement Planning (MRP) for Packaging, Bulk Chemicals, and Fuel shipments, replacing ad-hoc planning with a structured approach where shipment schedules are planned at the start of each month upon order release. 8. Led the digitalization of key supply chain processes, including the payment approval system and imports system, replacing manual workflows with fully electronic platforms. This enhanced remote accessibility, improved stakeholder visibility, eliminated manual record-keeping, and facilitated real-time performance monitoring.

Procurement Manager (MRO & CAPEX)
Karāchi, Sindh, Pakistan
1. Led end-to-end procurement for multiple multi-million USD CAPEX projects. Managed ordering of Main Plant Equipment, Balance of Plant, FEED, detailed engineering and construction services. 2. Conducted 'Should Cost Analysis' for construction and maintenance contracts totaling over USD 3 million, achieving cost savings of 27% (> USD 800K). 3. Secured credit facilities exceeding USD 150,000 from three major global suppliers, transitioning from costly Letters of Credit to more flexible net 30 days credit terms, improving cash flow and reducing opportunity costs for LCPL. 4. Standardized LCPL's supplier selection by categorizing suppliers based on their capabilities, replacing ad hoc RFQ/RFP processes. This strategy reduced supplier variability among buyers, promoted supplier loyalty, and improved overall quality and efficiency. 5. Identified and pre-qualified new service contractors across multiple categories, improving bargaining power and supplier diversity. This effort resulted in substantial savings, including a 50% reduction in scaffolding costs and a 22% decrease (USD 106K savings) in tank construction expenses for the AETP project. 6. Implemented a contract management responsibility matrix at LCPL based on RCMS and global best practices, resolving role misunderstandings and enhancing ownership. 7. Finalized and launched LCPL's first Purchase Manual, building on previous work and focusing on SOX Procure-to-Pay (P2P) guidelines. I continually refined the manual to enhance process efficiency while maintaining strong governance and control standards, ensuring clarity and usability for all stakeholders. 8. Led the development of a digital Bid Summary Approval System which allows purchasers and end users to send and receive bid summary documents electronically and also logs dates automatically and in real time to provide greater visibility and improve KPI reporting.
