As Project Director, Nationwide Optical Fiber Network, prepared project and business plan, obtained the necessary regulatory permissions, secured project funding from a bank consortium and successfully argued the business case to mobile operators. As Chief Operating Officer, prepared business plan for the Wireless Local Loop-WLL (CDMA) Project, led project deployment, launched WLL services nationwide, managed operations, wrote Fiber Project Plan, successfully launched the WLL project/company, advised non-feasibility of WLL business case to stakeholders and advised stake holders to explore exit options; resulted in a successful sale to Omantel.

Led all operations and a major change programme. Closed unprofitable operations. Greatly improved EBITDA. Successfully arranged consultancy jobs working with USA consultancy Arthur D Little and Mason’s of the UK.

Led three projects: deployment of a GSM-900 network in the Central Region, the Information Highway and deployment of a cable TV network in Lahore.

* PCI is part of Nera of Norway. Successfully set up of a factory for the production of telecom equipment. * Led procurement of electronics parts & materials and allied equipment. Managed staff training programmes. * Wrote new production, test and quality procedures. Obtained necessary regulatory approvals. * Achieved all production and quality targets.

Set up production lines for classified military-standard equipment in collaboration with Lockheed Sanders, USA. Managed contracts. Acted as Technical Staff Officer of the organization. Worked closely with clients, governmental departments and allied agencies. Successfully completed the projects and drove substantial savings in foreign assistance fees.

* Worked as a regional trouble-shooter; sent to locations to solve problems that local engineers could not fix. * Carried out maintenance and quality checks for electronic logging equipment/tools, computers and peripherals. * Also conducted engineering field services. * Always achieved KPI targets. Rebuilt a discarded Logging Computer which resulted in substantial savings.
