Leading top management consulting projects in banking, finance and asset management as well as in a broad range of other industries (e.g. real estate, software, private equity, retail, energy, manufacturing, textiles). Major consulting topics including corporate and business unit strategies, corporate finance and M&A, controlling and reporting, strategy process design, restructuring, IT strategies and digital transformation. Clients range from small and mid-sized companies to large multinational corporations. Head of finance, IT and administration of Berg Lund & Company responsible for finance and controlling, administration and IT at BLC. Completely new setup of all finance, controlling and admin functions, including end-to-end process optimization, digitization and partial outsourcing. This includes the complete redesign of financial accounting and reporting systems as well as the introduction of a new finance system integrating and optimizing e.g. banking, accounting and controlling as well as financial document and data management.

Responsible for a number of consulting and research projects including companies and institutions such as Deutsche Bahn, Porsche AG, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the European Union. Focus topics were IT and E-business strategies, usability and user experience of IT inerfaces and websites as well as multi channel strategies. Teaching responsibilities included lectures on various topics related to IT and digital transformation and theses supervisions.

Development of a stock and order management system for the chemical division. Covered the whole process from design through implementation, testing and rollout including user training. Intensive use of agile values and principles such as iterative development, frequent devlivery of working increments and daily collaboration with customers/users. The system strongly increased business process efficiency and ensured adherence to the strict regulation for importing, storing and selling chemicals.

Supported setup and operations of the Office of International Exchange Programs (OIEP) at the Institute of Information Systems. Responsibilities included the development of information material and setup of mentoring and support activities for international students as well as the support of operations of the OIEP. More than 20 publications in renowned national and international journals, speaker at various conferences.

Conduction of a market study on electronic procurement systems (interview of solution providers, evaluation of systems, compilation of report). Participation in projects for the development of an online direct distribution strategy for a computer manufacturer and for a market entry strategy for b-to-b ecommerce services for a telecommunications provider.

Participation in the international reserach project "rules for database updates" funded by the German Academic Exchange Service. Creation of a comprehensive website on online resources regarding data warehousing and data mining.

Supported the creation of a book on data models, database languages and database management systems, esp. through the development of case studies and the design of illustrations. Literature research on a broad range of database related topics. Leading role in the organization of a conference on data modelling by the German Informatics Society.
