I've been working with a small team, as self-employed, to create a set of initial trial PCBs for a cutting edge AV project. The team consists of a few principal engineers who create the schematic design for the projects. These designs are passed on to me to create the PCB layout. Close communication with the principal engineers is critical, so that the design intent for the circuit is passed onto the layout.

Electronics Design Engineer - Level 1
Renishaw Encoder Product Division. After finishing the graduate scheme, I was offered a full-time position in EPD, working with Renishaw encode product line. This includes new and current products. I work in a small electronics team, which has grown significantly since my joining the department. This has given me the opportunity to mentor graduates, who pass through the department, and manage industrial placements. I am required to work with many senior and principal engineers in both the new product designs and production equipment designs.

The Renishaw Electronics Graduate Scheme has been a great opportunity for me to transfer my academic skills into real industrial experience. I had experience working in 4 departments during the scheme which has given me experience design and working with a wide range of applications and products. I was able to work on some new product designs, including a couple of product refreshes and two entirely new products. Alongside this, my skills have been required to aid the production environment, helping to monitor and diagnose problems with production equipment.
