Moomal Siddiqui

As a first-year student at UC San Diego pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Behavioral Neuroscience, I am deeply interested in understanding the neurobiology behind cognition and its impact on human behavior. My academic path is driven by a desire to explore the intersections between neuroscience and medicine, and as a student on the pre-med path I plan to attend medical school after graduating in 2027. To complement my academic interests, I have gained valuable experience in the healthcare field through internships at Evergreen Hospital and UW Medical Center, where I had the opportunity to shadow medical professionals and gain firsthand insight into patient care. Additionally, competing internationally with HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) has further fueled my passion for medicine and healthcare. Beyond my academic and medical pursuits, I have a long-standing commitment to leadership and community service. Since 2016, I have been a youth leader and emcee with The Citizens Foundation, working to provide cost-effective education for students in Pakistan. I also served as Head Volunteer Coordinator for Indus Hospital’s Seattle chapter for two years, following five years of active involvement as a volunteer. Currently, I serve on the board of the Bellevue chapter of Essentials First, where we promote hygiene health and security in communities affected by COVID-19. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I truly enjoy the opportunity to help others learn and grow. This is reflected in my years of tutoring at my local library, working as an early learner’s assistant at Kumon, and volunteering as an assistant second grade teacher. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of education and mentorship, and I look forward to continuing to inspire and support others on their journeys in education. With a passion for both medicine and education, I am excited for the opportunities ahead and am committed to making a meaningful impact in healthcare, community service, and teaching. I look forward to continuing my academic and professional journey, and I am eager to connect with others who share similar interests and goals.
