About

An engineer by training, drawn to the social impact space out of a deep conviction that technology, when applied with the right intent, can create lasting change. I focus on building smart, scalable systems that transform complex data into actionable insights for grassroots decision-making. I enjoy working at the intersection of data, policy, and public systems to inform more inclusive, equitable, and timely interventions. Currently, I work as an Analyst with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), supporting immunisation, maternal health, child health and essential medicines programs in India through data science solutions that power evidence-based policymaking and strategic investments. In the past, I’ve worked with the Geographic Insights Lab at Harvard University, Deloitte’s Public Policy vertical, the GeospatialX Lab at National University of Singapore, and the University of Virginia - experiences that helped me explore how data can strengthen development policy and delivery. Lately, I’ve been thinking more about how small, impact-first ventures can access early-stage capital without compromising their mission. I’m particularly interested in how smarter impact measurement can guide investment decisions and help scale local solutions that work. Always open to ideas, collaborations, or just a good conversation. 📧 mchaurasiya@clintonhealthaccess.org

Deloitte, the sharpest of the Big Four, was my gateway to the corporate world. Amid fast-paced deadlines and partner meetings, I witnessed how tech-enabled policy solutions were pitched, yet their on-ground impact felt distant, buried in consulting decks. • Evaluated export capabilities for over 9 million MSMEs in Uttar Pradesh districts by creating a Multidimensional Composite Index incorporating 14 key socioeconomic indicators • Modelled Log-Transformed Multiple Linear Regression to examine the linkage of 3 socioeconomic indices as elasticity (%change) on exports from UP's districts under ODOP Policy • Developed a Tableau-based ODOP Policy Tracker dashboard for precision policy-making mchaurasiya.ext@deloitte.com

As an Associate affiliated with the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard, I contributed to several high-impact projects under the Geographic Insights Lab’s key initiative, India Policy Insights - a collaboration with NITI Aayog. We developed policy trackers that translated NFHS data and related government policies into granular, district-level insights. These tools gained widespread recognition and adoption by key stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, District Magistrates, and researchers, underscoring their value in driving data-informed policy decisions. • Impacted Indian grassroots policymaking with a Power BI-based geo-visual policy tracker (IPI), leveraging NFHS survey data, presenting actionable granular socioeconomic insights; IPI is a key initiative of NITI Aayog, GOI • Influenced child vaccination in India by creating the KPI Index for the IMI program, pinpointing district-level improvements; Recommended interventions to target 70 Lakh+ unvaccinated children • Analyzed sanitation levels across Districts and PCs in India; Modelled the NFHS micro-data and applied Multilevel Regression models in STATA; Visualized the spatial variation using ArcGIS • Achieved 90% manual effort reduction by automating the generation of 7000+ socio-economic factsheets using Tableau automation libraries in Python, empowering policymakers with evidence from NFHS for their administrative region • Developed Presentations and Reports for communicating key insights to the stakeholders

My experience with the GeospatialX Lab at NUS involved mapping population density changes due to flood inundation using high-resolution satellite imagery, building a foundation in geospatial analysis and motivating deeper interest in applying spatial informatics to climate, environmental, and public health challenges. • Analysed forced population migration to seasonal and long term indundation in the Sundarbans region. • Employed the gravity model with suitable climate and topographical variables along with population density change to predict the hotspots for migration in 2030. • Used satellite imagery to model human settlement and population density change. Supervision: Dr. Luo Wei | Professor, NUS.

Spent a transformative summer with UVA, a top-ranked U.S. public university, collaborating online (due to COVID-19) with NGOs like LEAP and NRDC on sustainability challenges in Virginia. Used my skills in geospatial analysis to improve solar panels establishment and brownfields redevelopment. • Utilized spatial analysis in ArcGIS to identify expansion areas for LEAP (A non-profit in Virginia); crafted growth-focused social media marketing strategies, reaching 20% more target population to install solar panels • Identified 1400 brownfield sites for clean energy redevelopment in the US, based on socioeconomic and clean energy viability indices created using R; Advised NRDC (A non-profit in NYC) with a structured plan for community engagement in evaluation • Evaluated Delhi's COVID-19 emergency services burden on existing health centers using ArcGIS and identified optimal sites for 200 Govt. Primary Care Clinics, revealing shortcomings in rural outskirts' medical facilities
