As a Senior Caseworker and HR Manager at TCU I provided sole technical specialist duties which included providing operational oversight and improvement for case working processes. Contributed to parliamentary questions, disseminating decision making guidance, mentoring new decision makers, liaising with Litigation Ops. I also helped set up the new TCU Asylum Team training all new DMs successfully in interviewing and decision making. As a Team Manager I was responsible for day to day management of EOs and AOs supporting staff to optimise performance and productivity and deliver best value for money. I managed individual performance and attendance issues. Driving forward and delivering team performance and objectives in line with team and business priorities and leading on data quality conducting assurance sampling to agreed levels.

* Conduct screening and substantive asylum interviews * Making decisions on asylum claims with reference to background country information, policy, case law and legislation. * Comprehensive knowledge of country information reports (COI) and guidance case law * Respond to Pre Action Protocol (PAP), Judicial Reviews and further representations. * Representing the Secretary of State in asylum appeals at the First Tier Immigration Tribunal * Cross examining appellant (witnesses including experts). Providing legal submissions. Testing evidence.
