I have over fourteen years of experience working with the United Nations and international organizations in various capacities. At present I am working with Road to Jobs project of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It is a pro poor growth project working for development of selected value chains. The project is aiming at reducing poverty through value chain development. I am Local Economic Development Coordinator of the project and mainly responsible for market system analysis, designing and implementation of value chain development interventions. I was also part of the value chain research project of the ILO during 2013-2014. I hold an Msc in international business management from University of Liverpool, UK. Moreover I hold a Bsc in Agriculture from Nangarhar University, Afghanistan. I work effectively in fast-paced environments where deadlines are a priority and handling multiple jobs simultaneously is a requirement. I have extensive experience in programmes and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation with a focus on results based management and research.

* Lead and provide guidance to the value chain research teams in central and northeastern regions of Afghanistan. Monitor the research team and its activities and manage the data collection. * Conduct survey on different value chain actors such as traders, processors, producers, business service providers etc for five value chains crops; grapes, rice, wheat, tomato and potato. Conduct in depth interviews and perform desk research on value chains and prepare reports. * Conduct value chains analysis for the five crops and identifying key interventions for improvement. * Conduct survey and analysis of different agricultural value chains in wholesale and retail markets in central and northeastern Afghanistan. * Search and review the existing literature on agriculture value chains (production, processing, and marketing). * Assist the international research coordinator in preparing the value chain research report. * Conduct field visits and participate in interviewing different actors in the value chain.
