Founded HashiCorp and changed roles from CTO to an individual contributor in 2021. HashiCorp makes a set of tools that are downloaded millions of times every month: Vagrant, Packer, Consul, Terraform, Vault, Nomad, Waypoint, and Boundary. These tools are used almost universally by tech companies worldwide and span multiple professional categories from developers to operators/IT as well as InfoSec.

Founded HashiCorp and changed roles from CEO to CTO in 2016 until July 2021. During this time, HashiCorp grew to nearly 1,500 employees, product downloads grew to over 100 million downloads per year, and we launched numerous new products. By the end of my tenure as CTO, we had over 1,700 enterprise customers including nearly 30% of the Fortune 500.

Founded HashiCorp with Armon Dadgar and operated as CEO for almost four years, participating in every role along the way. During this time, HashiCorp grew from one employee to over 40, one open source tool to eight, zero dollars in revenue to seven figures in annually recurring revenue.

Designed and built the automation and tooling around infrastructure management from the ground up. In charge of monitoring, scalability, and reliability of the overall website. The tools built were built around Puppet, Python, Ruby, and Bash. Scaled from 1QPS at 200msec median response to 2000QPS at 20msec median response, processing over 100MM+ API requests per day.

Web developer which worked with many startups at various stages. I helped plan the architecture to scale sites from inception to having millions of active users. Specialized in Ruby-based web development, flash development, and frontend Javascript work.
