Design a 6-story steel building (beams, girders, columns, and footings) with all the specifications and minimum requirements presented from ASCE 7. Design Special Concentrically Braced Frames within the 6-story building to withstand seismic forces (including diagonal brace design, beam and column design, and gusset connection design).

* Receive and review drawings provided from a partner architect firm. * Perform Steel and Wood selections through computer software such as enercalc. * Retrofit selected designs onto drawings and documents received from architect in AutoCAD. * Perform surveys on sites and establish an evaluation of the site.

Evaluate potential problems due to the soil properties of the site (e.g. inadequate strength soils, excessively compressive soils, high water table, potential for liquefaction). Understanding the schematics how the original Ground Improvement method was achieved. Identify an alternative ground improvement method that would be more appropriate or readily available compared to the original proposed method. Create a formal proposal of an alternative ground improvement method to evaluate for feasibility at this site, showing calculations as well as improved schematics.
