About
Research: Current research projects involve studies on: measuring evaporation with glass fibre optic cables (DTS) and stable water isotopes which is part of my Veni (NWO). I aim to learn more about the evaporation process by combining new observation techniques in order to provide input for hydrological models and Remote Sensing products. Teaching activities: I am responsible for two courses: 4th year Master course 'Hydrological Measurements' (CIE4440) and 3rd year Minor course 'Meting aan Water' (CT3412MI). Furthermore, I am involved in the yearly field course to Luxembourg ('Hydrological fieldwork in river systems' CIE5471) and supervise several students at PhD, MSc and BSc level for their additional or final thesis. Other: - Secretary of Boussinesq Center for Hydrology - Actively involved in organizing several sessions at EGU and an active member at the Hydrological Science Division - Journal (assiociate) editor of HESS, Water Resources Research, and Ecohydrology Specialties: Hydrology, Experimental hydrology, Hydrological modelling, GIS

My main research topics are related to rainfall interception and evaporation, where I combine field experiments with modelling. Furthermore, I am involved in the courses “Hydrological Measurements”, “Hydrological Fieldwork in Luxembourg”, and a new minor course "Measuring for water". Since 2009 I am a tutor for first year students Civil Engineering.

My main research topics are related to rainfall interception and evaporation, where I combine field experiments with modelling in both rural as urban areas. Furthermore, I am involved in the courses “Hydrological Measurements”, “Hydrological Fieldwork in Luxembourg”, and a new minor course "Measuring for water". Since 2009 I am a tutor for first year students Civil Engineering and since 2011 I am member of the Board of Studies Civil Engineering.
