Graduated in the Faculty of Pharmacy (Clinical chemistry and Industrial Pharmacy) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Master in Pharmacy (UFRGS) and PhD in Medicinal Chemistry (University of Bonn, Germany). Professor at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil, since 1996. First coordinator of the Postgraduation Program of Pharmacy (UFSC), from 1999 to 2002. Sabaticum at University of Athens (2009). Head of Department 2012-2014. Full professor of Medicinal Chemistry since 2015. Teaching activities to graduate and undergraduate students related to Medicinal Chemistry, Drug interactions, Chemistry of Natural Products (medicinal plants and marine organisms), Chromatography and Drug analyse. Technical works for the Brazilian Ministry of Health related to selection of essential drugs and drug information.
