Leitmotifs in the Film Score Anthony Adverse Composed by Erich Korngold The body of this dissertation presents a detailed analysis of the leitmotifs (which inspired by the works of Richard Wargner) in the Anthony Adverse score, as well as the transformation of those leitmotifs throughout the film. Scores like Anthony Adverse set the trend for originally composed, full-length, symphonic scores modeled on a nineteenth-century musical idiom. The remainder of chapter five will be devoted to this score, to an analysis of leitmotifs which are consistently associated with the specific characters and situations.
