Engineering Manager
Hoffman Estates
Manage team of engineers and technicians in Craftsman/DieHard quality assurance department. • Write and maintain Craftsman power tools technical specifications test procedures and work instructions • Write and maintain DieHard work lights (halogen, incandescent and LED) technical specification and test procedures to ensure product adhere to required quality. • Lead engineer on the new “intelligent” brushless power drill project. Integrated brushless motor controls with mechanical systems and graphic user interface to produce best in class, programmable, powerful line of power tools. • Designed mechanical and structural parts of the brushless drill, produced alpha and beta prototypes to prove new principles and to confirm design concepts. • Optimized structural elements of the brushless drill, applying finite element analysis, (FEA) resulting in higher overall stiffness, and producing 12% increase in torque output, • Released 3D design and corresponding GDT 2D drawings for the preproduction run. • Worked on a newly developed wet/dry vacuum cleaner project, and was responsible for the mechanical design and for the computational fluid dynamics CFD analysis. Resulted in optimized blade geometry of the impeller unit, which produced increase in suction power of 45 Air Watts and increase in static pressure drop of 25%. • Manage department budget and perform capital expenditure analysis. • Managed and supported engineering build (EB), pre-pilot run and pilot run of the product. • Review returns; identify root cause; develop and implement resolutions.

Senior Mechanical Engineer/ Lecturer
Promoted through a series or increasingly responsible teaching, engineering and project management assignments. Teach 4 courses in Design, Manufacturing, Finite Element Analysis and Rapid Prototyping. Manage capital investment project, supervise facilities maintenance, and manage equipment procurement and installation. Supported faculty research with design and analysis expertise.

Lab Manager
As a resident expert provided CAD/CEA/CAM support to students and faculty. Responsible for architecting, creating and deploying training material and learning programs in following software applications. Pro/Engineer (modeling, advanced surfacing, NC manufacturing) ABAQUS (Standard and Explicit solvers, and non convergence problems) MSC ADAMS (dynamics and motion analysis software). STAR CD computational fluids dynamic software.

Participate in design development and testing of spade-type drill bit with helical configuration. Drill bit optimized for cost reduced manufacturing and for minimized dynamic forces through FEA design optimization. US Patent and Trademark Office application No. 10427393 filed on 2003-04-30. Recently quoted in January 2008 issue of Mechanical Engineering Magazine Feature Article, "In school Analysis". Article on usage of CFD in higher education. Managed transition from PTC Pro/E software to EDS Unigraphics suite of software at McCormick School of Engineering. Project included software, hardware and training with estimated value of $32 Million.; Design, development and manufacture of exhaust systems for two and four cycle small and medium engines)
