Milan Salek
RF/mmW Engineer @ Filtronic
About
I am currently employed with Filtronic (U.K.) as a RF/mmW Engineer working on design and development of RF/mmW sub-modules and systems within telecommunications and defence products. Previously, I was employed with the QinetiQ (U.K.) as a RF Microwave Engineer working on design and development of various radar systems, false target generators and target emulators. I have also been working in the University of Birmingham as a research fellow working on design and development of many passive and active microwave and terahertz devices such as filters, antennas, LNAs, power amplifiers, power detectors, etc. I was involved in developing lab on chip devices for chemical and biological liquid sensing by using photonic crystal resonators (PCRs). I have completed my PhD in 2019 at the University of Birmingham. During my PhD, I designed many passive and active devices at both low and high frequencies. I have work experience with different RF measurement equipment up to a frequency of 1.1THz. I also have years of experience working with many high frequency simulation software such as CST, HFSS, ADS, and AWR. Prior to my PhD, I completed my degree at Aston University with BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I have designed many Analog and Digital circuits in the past and I have years of experience in designing of audio circuits, including preamplifiers and power amplifiers. I am also familiar with microcontroller and FPGA programming, as well as PCB design and designed many PCBs using various software such as Altium, Cadence, and Proteus.
