As the founding CFO, I led all aspects of financial strategy, operations, and corporate development through a period of rapid growth and industry consolidation. My role included driving capital formation, optimizing financial systems and reporting, overseeing project pricing and profitability, and ensuring GAAP compliance. I partnered closely with the CEO and board to evaluate strategic investments, improve operational efficiency, and position the company for acquisition. Hugh O’Kane Electric (HOK) is a long-established electrical and telecommunications contractor serving New York City’s infrastructure needs since 1946. As CFO, I modernized the company’s financial management and strategic planning functions, strengthening controls, reporting, and forecasting for a multi-generational family-owned business operating at industrial scale. I oversaw project accounting, budgeting, and treasury management while implementing systems that improved visibility into margins and cash flow.
