Mike Von Holtz
Lead Tooling Engineer II @ Gentex Corporation
About
With over 35 years in injection molding, and 26 years in the automotive industry, I excel in high-volume consumer products and automotive components. I bring hands-on expertise in polymer processing, rigorous mold trials, and scientific molding techniques. As an RJG Master Molder 2 since 2000 and a Six Sigma Green Belt, I have extensive knowledge in polymer materials and processes. My experience covers the full lifecycle of injection molded parts: DFM, tooling design, material selection, GD&T, supplier quality, and RMT/DOE techniques. I've successfully launched both domestic and offshore tooling, and I’m skilled in various processes including gas assist molding, in-mold decorating, insert/overmolding, two-shot molding, and thermoforming. I am also experienced in operating auxiliary equipment and robotic automation. As a leading contributor on two patents and several patent applications, I’m committed to innovation and excellence in polymer processing and product design. In addition to my technical expertise, I'm well versed in management and team leadership. For the past 7 years I've led a diverse team of Tooling Engineers through complex projects while ensuring the delivery of world-class tooling, all while being on time and within budget. My Leadership style emphasizes clear communication, continuous improvement and personal growth, ensuring team members and projects exceed expectations.
