Mike Teti
Global Mechanical Engineering Lead @ PerkinElmer
About
Mechanical Design Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the solar energy and autonomous vehicle industries. Experience in designing, modelling and optimising structures and components using Solidworks, finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In addition, other roles involved writing technical documents and communicating to customers and suppliers on engineering related matters. Strong engineering professional with a Master of Applied Science focused in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. Passionate about innovation, optimisation and product development.

Mechanical Design Engineer
Axsus
Division of Magna International In my role I created large assembly 3-D models, Bill of Materials (BOM) and drawings (component, structural and shop drawings) in a timely matter in order to meet strict quote deadlines. In addition, I used failure criteria (finite element analysis and testing) for new component and connection designs to verify loading capabilities and investigated possible optimization in order to reduce cost. Part of my role also included communicating with customers and suppliers on engineering, material and quality related questions/issues in order to ensure a smooth and error-free installation of the site. Furthermore, I wrote technical documents, responded to requests for information (RFI’s), led presentations of the product to be built, and conducted hands-on training sessions with the construction superintendents.

Mechanical Engineer
X-MatiK Inc
I designed an enclosure for the power distribution hub of the autonomous kit using Solidworks resulting in a solution to connect the brake, gas, control unit and global positioning system (GPS) together. In order to contain electromagnetic interference emitted from a switch mode 12V to 48V converter used for the system, I designed a shield using Solidworks sheet metal. My role also involved creating part and assembly drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) as per the industry standard.
