From January 2009 to November 2014 I was a Senior Lecturer in International Education on the management team of large scale (9 year) English language improvement project in Bangladesh with DFID and Bangladeshi government. I was Chair of the secondary (schools) team. Creating, adapting and testing materials and working with teachers and teacher trainers in delivery. This has included conceptualizing and designing innovative media rich materials (video, audio and print) for delivery through mobile phones to reach large numbers - a concept whose early and proven success is provoking much interest in the sector. Also written and published on the field of ELT and development projects. In November 2014 I became Director of the Open University's TESSA (Teacher Education in Sub Saharan Africa) programme. This provides OERs (Open Educational Resources) across more than 15 countries and Africa that have been jointly developed with Open University academics and stakeholders from countries in the region.
