Mike was announced as the Vice President of the North East Chamber of Commerce in June 2014. His role enables him to fly the flag for the manufacturing sector in the North East, helping shape chamber policy to ensure that the region cements its position as a global leader. Working alongside the current chamber President David Laws, Chief Executive of Newcastle International Airport, Mike will chair meetings, attend a number of the chamber’s events across the year and will welcome visitors to the region on behalf of the NECC, the voice of the region’s business community.

* Mike was Deputy Managing Director, before being promoted to his current position in 2008. He held the following roles within the business before then: * 2000 - European Sales Manager, handling two offices in the UK, one in Brussels and additional office in Barcelona Spain * 1999 – European Sales Manager handling two offices in the UK and one in Brussels, Belgium * 1998 – General Manager Sales Design and Engineering * 1994 – Sales and Design Manager * 1992 – Technical Sales Manager * 1988 – Technical Sales Representative * 1986 – Toolmaker

Mike was appointed as President of the NECC during the organisation's AGM on June 9, 2015. He had previously held the role of Vice President, and took over the chains of office from Immediate Past President Newcastle International Airport Chief Executive Dave Laws. In this role, Mike acted as an advisor to the Chamber, shaping policy areas for the organisation, and ensuring that the Chamber continued to make the case for the North East, as well as championing all that is great about the area on behalf of its 4,000 members.
