Raydiance was a startup that developed an ultra-fast (high energy short pulsed) smart laser used by clients in the medical, aerospace, manufacturing and government industries. - Developed C/C++ multi-threaded application software to control laser system startup, monitor optical performance, perform system boot, network communications, report errors and alarms, and perform data logging. - Worked closely with HW Engineers to develop C/C++ software to control the MLL, optical amplifiers, pump laser, and PID power control loops. - Wrote Python and HTML client and server-side applications for configuration, upgrades, and licensing. - Selected the company’s next generation X86 dual-core single-board computer. Sunrise developed RF and digital test equipment used to test wireless signals, network, and CATV signals and networks. - Wireless communications test system: Developed Motorola PowerPC instrument firmware in C and C++. Responsible for system architecture/design, hardware (DSP and FPGA) communications, drivers, and builds. - Completed the N1776 CATV broadband network analyzer originally designed for HP/Agilent Technologies. Co-designed the overall software architecture and developed key software sections. This multi-threaded dual-CPU system incorporated a Win CE GUI running in parallel with an Intel CPU system. - Developed analog and digital TV channel tests (QAM 64/128/256), communications, interrupt scheduling, and broadband network tests. Contributed on several R&D projects over a span of 10 years to design and develop embedded system and application firmware for high-end broadband, wireless, and digital communications test instruments. These products are considered some of the best in the industry and sold world-wide. Implemented software for several embedded system platforms using C, C++, and other programming languages. - Agilent N1776 CATV Analyzer: Co-designed and developed the Agilent N1776 CATV analyzer analog and digital measurement system software. Wrote CPU intercommunications software, FPGA and DSP interfaces, analog RF, and QAM digital measurement suites. This product was later acquired by Sunrise Telecom. - HP E440X Spectrum Analyzer: Developed C/C++ code for Agilent’s CDMA/GSM PCS wireless cellular mobile and base station test system. Added wireless communications channel tuning, analog, and digital measurement capabilities to their baseline product.
