I am a full Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Jena since January 2014. My general research focus is on organization theory and international management. I am especially interested in actor-centered institutionalism, socio-political issues in multinational corporations, and cross-national comparisons of management, work and organizations. I have published in various high quality journals in the areas of international business and management, business management, organization studies, industrial relations, and sociology, reflecting my multidisciplinary research interests and commitment to interdisciplinary work. Moreover, I have published a number of academic books. I held a number of visiting positions, e.g. at Copenhagen Business School, Social Science Research Centre Berlin, Rotterdam School of Management, Judge Institute of Management Studies at Cambridge, Faculty of Business, Economics and Management Information Systems of the University of Regensburg, IBMEC in Belo Horizonte, and at the Sociology Departments of Moscow State University, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Wake Forest University, Stanford University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Currently, I am coordinator of the EGOS Standing Working Group 'Multinational corporations: social agency and institutional change' (with F. Becker-Ritterspach and S. Blazejewski), which started 2012. I am a guest editor of the Special Issue on 'Politicization and political contests in contemporary multinational corporations' in Human Relations (with S. Clegg and G. Hollinshead). Moreover, I am currently co-editing (together with C. Dörrenbächer) a new volume (49) of the Research in the Sociology of Organizations series on 'Multinational Corporations and Organization Theory: Post millennium perspectives' with Emerald, which is due to be published in early 2017.
