POPP was a Partnership between Age Concern, Somerset County Council and Somerset NHS organisations to improve the health of those aged 50+. It was to develop and maintain good working relationships with relevant public authorities, voluntary organisations and other key agencies in Somerset and elsewhere, including media. To produce a project work-plan, based for the duration of the project, to deliver against agreed key milestones. It included recruiting a new team, training them, developing new community clubs and bnecessitated rewriting part of the Company HR Manual. It was highly successful.

Started this bramch in partnership with Keith Robertson of enterprise agency. Very happy and very successful time helping around 2,000 companies start and grow. I was sad that Keith Robertson died, he was a great colleague and a good friend

I developed apprenticeships and a brokerage approach to matching skills trainers to companies following a diagnostic arranged via Business Link Advisors I worked with the Business delivery arms of FE Coleges I arranged a consortium of private sector training providers who were at the right standard I was responsible for outsourcing Investors in People activities and assessments I worked on national policies for training grants in a National Committee I worked on Nurse Education I developed remote Small Business diagnostic software and learning projects

Regeneration of Hastings Business support in Hastings and Rother

I managed the Multi-Discipled Manager and Marketing courses,which delivered many in - house staregy courses. I was also a Director of the Marketing research company Tack Research. We worked on the first CRM systems in the UK as well as a regular Sales management survey

I revised the HR Policies, Handled many General HR issues and worked on Performance improvement and workforce development as well as Talent development and Training

My work included Community Development and Regeneration in close working relationships with District Councillors and Public Sector Partners. I hold a Qualification in Sustainable Communities and others in Business Support, Quality, Marketing and Management I have worked in HR as an HR Advisor / Business Partner and have current CIPD Qualifications

Mike is currently a member of the Development Management and Overview (Policy) Committees and is the Council's Employment Champion. He contributes to Task groups to increase Council income and the Economic Development and Strategic Think Tanks. Mike Chaired the final stages of consultation about the Local Plan. He has served on Honiton Town Council and is closely involved with Honiton Community Church running a "Freedom in Christ" course with his wife, Sheila
