As the 6th and 7th grade science teacher, I developed a new, NGSS-aligned curriculum for integrated science, focusing on the development of scientific practices and 21st century skills in a hands-on program. As a member of the 6th grade math team, I implemented the College Preparatory Mathematics Core Connections 1 program, which focuses on inquiry-based collaborative learning of mathematical concepts.

Implement instruction in AP Environmental Science, Human Physiology, and AVID.

In this position, I worked with a team of examiners to administer the standardized California English Language Development Test to students in all schools of the CUSD, grades K-8.

I started the year teaching a full multiple subject program as well as a social/emotional/life skills program at a site committed to teaching the whole child but left due to a family emergency.

I taught small group mathematics to students grades K through 5, addressing both intervention and enrichment needs.

Conducted independent scientific research on early pattern formation in the African clawed toad, Xenopus laevis, in the lab of Douglas Melton.

As an associate teacher at the middle school level, I collaborated with teachers on curriculum design and implementation, small group instruction and teaching Biological and Physical sciences, and PreAlgebra. I also cotaught a weekly course on social/emotional topics and growth mindset.

Assisted with the development and implementation of a unique science program for grades K-5, integrating CA state standards and FOSS curriculum with the living laboratory of the on-site farm. Supported the teacher during prep time in curriculum presentation and lesson design, preparation of materials, testing lab experiments, and organization and scheduling of topics. Assisted in the classroom with experiments and activities in small groups, aided with classroom management, and evaluated efficacy of instruction.

Taught step aerobic classes 3 times a week for a diverse population of ages and fitness levels.

Conducted independent scientific research on protein secretion in the yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, in the lab of Nobel Laureate Randy Schekman.
