As Project Leader and Malaysia Pavilion Director for Expo 2020 Dubai, Michelle spearheaded Malaysia’s participation, securing MYR77 billion in potential trade, 165 MOUs, and 4,000+ business meetings. Under her leadership, the Pavilion became Malaysia’s first Net Zero Carbon Pavilion, winning 10 international awards, including the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Gold Award for Best Theme Interpretation. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, she ensured operational continuity and the Pavilion’s success on a global stage. Previously, she led Malaysia’s participation at Astana Expo 2017, earning the BIE Award for Best Theme Interpretation and facilitating USD1 billion in trade deals. Beyond expositions, Michelle is a seasoned entrepreneur. As Founder & CEO of Cliff Ink Sdn Bhd, she built a multi-faceted business spanning batik manufacturing, events, creative solutions, and F&B. She launched Meesha Sukira, a premium batik brand exported to over 10 countries and showcased at Harrods London. Her business achievements have earned her numerous accolades, including the Tokoh Anugerah Batik (Entrepreneurship) Award, SME Corp’s E50 Enterprise Award (Top 10), and recognition as one of Prestige Malaysia’s Top 40 Under 40. Michelle also played a significant role as Project Director and Co-Organising Chair of the Malaysia-China Summit 2024, celebrating 50 years of Malaysia-China relations. The summit attracted over 15,000 visitors, 2,200 delegates, and 250+ companies, generating MYR500 million in potential trade. A recognised speaker, she has shared insights at APEC, the ASEAN-Japan Young Entrepreneurs Summit, and the Global Summit of Women.
