Michael Tardi
Global Strategic Purchasing – Procurement Manager (Reagents & Biologics) @ Abbott
About
I am a Chemical Engineering graduate from the University of Illinois with technical experience in the Oil & Gas and Healthcare industries. I am also a proud Chick Evans Scholar and a humble member of the prestigious Hoeft Technology and Management Program. I currently hold the role of Senior Procurement Specialist in Chemicals and Biologics for Rapid Diagnostics after completing two years in the Realtime/Alinity Bulks Production Supervisor role at Abbott Molecular and graduating from the 3 year long Operations Professional Development Program (OPDP) from July 2019 to July 2022. In 2019 I had joined the Global Procurement Team within the Injection Molding Category supporting current business partnerships, cost saving initiatives, and developing their long term supplier strategy. In 2020 I had the opportunity to lead 150 operators as a Production Supervisor manufacturing the Binax-Now COVD-19 rapid test. Proudly I can say my team alone had contributed millions of Safe and Reliable rapid tests to the US market in the fight against the pandemic. In 2021, I gained once in a lifetime international experience by working within the Established Pharmaceutical Division in Basel Switzerland where I interacted with our global network of production facilities on a daily basis as part of a team running a Operational Excellence maturity assessment and benchmarking project.
