Michael Kaplan is a Chicago-based real estate advisor and founder of The REKAP Group, a high-performing team focused on guiding clients through every stage of their real estate journey—from first-time homeownership to luxury and investment transactions. Michael has helped hundreds of clients successfully transition from renters to homeowners, while also representing large-scale and high-end deals featured in Traded Chicago and other prominent real estate publications. As one of Compass’ youngest agents, he brings a modern, strategic, and client-first approach to the industry. Michael operates The REKAP Group alongside partners Mike Pierson and Gordy Baba, where the team specializes in residential sales, leasing, and investment advisory services across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Together, they are known for combining market expertise, operational efficiency, and a concierge-level client experience. The group’s collaborative structure allows clients to benefit from a team-based approach while maintaining a single, trusted point of contact throughout the transaction. Michael has made a significant impact in the real estate industry early in his career due to his ability to connect, communicate, and advocate effectively for his clients. A native of the Chicagoland area, Michael grew up in Vernon Hills, Illinois and has lived in Chicago since 2018. He currently resides in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago and previously has lived in Lincoln Park & Lakeview. While deeply knowledgeable about individual neighborhoods, his experience spans transactions throughout Chicago and nearby suburbs. Outside of real estate, Michael enjoys playing hockey, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
