Quality management for the HON Business Group at HNI including wood Case / laminate products, steel case products, seating, and architectural systems. Activities include optimizing new product introduction, speed of resolution of customer issues, and enhancing customer experience.

Created, Implemented and maintained certification for the ISO-14001 Environmental Management System and the OHSAS-18001 Safety Management System. Maintained and grew the established ISO-9001 Quality Management System. Integrated the various management systems across three global manufacturing sites. Directed customer corrective actions, Harmonized the key metric reporting structure and internal audit program.

Lead the international quality organization for NCR’s global operations. Managed and directed the continuous improvement activities for a quality organization located in the United States, China, Hungary, India, Canada, Scotland, Japan and Brazil. Responsible for delivering and improving on the high quality products produced at NCR’s internal manufacturing operations, fulfillment centers and contract manufacturers. Also responsible for maintaining ISO-9000 certification, promoting Kaizen improvement teams, optimizing cost of quality performance, and improving customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities in the Mobile Devices Business Division included the technical planning and supplier management for the global semiconductor memory commodity. Lead a cross functional team of engineers, purchasing professionals and business analysts to optimize the solid state memory device roadmap, manage supplier relationships at the executive level, perform quarterly pricing negotiations, and develop cost reduction strategies..

Responsibilities in the Personal Communications Division included managing the complete sourcing product life cycle for several new mobile handset programs from concept through launch plus six months. Total cost management was optimized through active component selection, supplier optimization and the development of pre-launch cost reduction strategies for each program.

Responsibilities in the Cellular Infrastructure Division included management of the cost and quality performance of the cellular base station manufacturing facility in McHenry, Illinois. Introduced activity based costing to manufacturing operations as a method to quantify quality improvements.

Responsible for the operation and management of the calibration and maintenance lab. Successfully managed business cycle time reduction where calibration services were reduced from eight days on average to less than four hours on average. Grew business outside of the Cellular Infrastructure Group to include all Motorola business in northern Illinois (PCS, Automotive, Lighting and Land Mobile) and on a limited basis to businesses outside of Motorola.

Responsibilities in the Cellular Infrastructure Division included management of the manufacturing operations and engineering support for analog base station manufacturing. Reduced product testing cycle time by 60% by designing and implementing automated manufacturing test systems.

Responsible for the development of receiver front end modules used in various electronic jamming systems developed for the US Military. Also lead the development effort in the construction of automated test equipment (both Hardware and Software) to test and automatically fault isolate system modules at a depot level maintenance facility.

Responsible for the design and development of electronic automated test equipment used to test and troubleshoot avionic and RF systems of the F/A-18 and AV/8B Harrier.
