About
I am a Master of Science Public Health graduate student at Campbell University with a focus on maternal and infant health, rural health systems, and community-based program development. My work integrates applied research, frontline care experience, and nonprofit leadership to advance health equity in underserved communities across Eastern North Carolina. As a first-generation college graduate and multigenerational North Carolinian, this work is my passion. I bring a trauma-informed perspective to public health research and program implementation. I am particularly interested in translating evidence into practice through community-partnered models that improve access, continuity of care, and health outcomes. I am the proud founder of The Phoenix Doula where I am a birth doula, birth educator, postpartum doula, and death doula. I witness the full spectrum of life from first breath to last. Additionally, I offer intentional program design, data-informed service models, grant-aligned initiatives, and ethical, sliding-scale care structures. My professional background includes nonprofit and program leadership, frontline healthcare work as a nurse aide, and direct service with families navigating complex health and social systems. My research interests include maternal morbidity and mortality, rural health inequities, violence-informed care, and evaluation of community-based interventions. I am seeking research assistantship or nonprofit leadership opportunities where I can contribute to study design, data collection and analysis, program evaluation, and policy-relevant research that strengthens community health infrastructure.

The Phoenix Doula is a community-based practice providing trauma-informed birth, postpartum, and end-of-life doula care grounded in evidence-based education, dignity, and continuity of care. Founded by a public health graduate student and frontline healthcare worker, The Phoenix Doula addresses gaps in maternal, infant, and end-of-life support—particularly in rural and underserved communities across Eastern North Carolina. The practice integrates life-course and violence-informed approaches to reduce preventable trauma, support informed decision-making, and strengthen family and community health outcomes. Services include birth and postpartum support, perinatal education, and end-of-life and legacy care for individuals and families navigating serious illness, dying, and caregiving. This integrated model recognizes birth and death as critical health transitions that benefit from skilled, non-judgmental, and relational support. The Phoenix Doula prioritizes ethical, sliding-scale service models and collaborates with healthcare systems, community organizations, and public health partners to improve access, continuity, and quality of care.
