Responsible for patrolling the unincorporated area of Collin County responding to calls for service by citizens in a wide range of fields such as loose livestock calls, thefts, burglaries, civil matters, mentally disturbed persons, motor vehicle crashes, domestic assaults, and homicides. Prepared reports for criminal offenses and forwarded them to criminal investigators, issued traffic citations for violations of the Texas transportation code, arrested persons for on view offenses and warrants.

Responsible for the minimum security facility of the detention center. Assisted with initial opening of new facility after construction. Supervised a staff of detention officers, scheduling work days and ensured proper staffing levels for the facility. Dealt with inmate grievances and conducted disciplinary hearings for inmates who were charged with violations of facility rules.

Worked housing providing for the safety and security of the facility and inmate population of the detention center. Supervised up to 96 inmates at a time in a dormitory style pod setting. Also performed other duties such as inmate escorts and control room operation.

Worked in the booking area of the county jail. Processed inmates as they were brought into the facility including criminal history checks, property intake, finger printing, and initial risk based classification. Also conducted arraignment hearings with a magistrate and processed inmates for release or transfer to other agencies.
