Michael Thiessen

As PwC’s US Chief Clients and Markets Officer, I oversee the firm’s Industry strategy, Client relations and Markets. I help deliver value to PwC’s clients, people, and other stakeholders by empowering teams, building relationships and developing solutions with greater impact through deeper industry/sector knowledge and insight. With nearly 34 years of extensive client service experience, I bring a collaborative, innovative approach to helping clients unlock value as they transform and navigate their most complex challenges. I have a strong background in finance, accounting, and reporting, and have advised large multinational organizations on matters including acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, and more. Most recently, I served as Vice Chair for PwC’s Trust and Consulting businesses, a member of the extended leadership team, Industrial Products Sector Champion, and lead client partner for significant client relationships. My previous leadership roles also include serving as Vice Chair for the New York Metro market—PwC’s largest geography—and as the Technology, InfoComm, Entertainment and Media Assurance Practice Leader, where I led a high-growth practice and worked closely on key global and national priority accounts. I earned my MBA from Columbia University and my bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. I'm a licensed CPA in both Connecticut and New York, and I live in South Glastonbury, Connecticut, with my wife, our two daughters, and two dogs.
