Responsible for the recruitment, retainment, empowerment, and coaching of the payments, cloud, and insurance teams. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop the vision and strategy for my teams and align them with business priorities. Payments Team: Redesign and rewrite the existing online payments application, which processes millions of dollars per week, to utilize cloud native tools like: Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB. Responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle: plan, design, develop, deploy, observe, and support.

Cloud Enablement Team: A specialized team tasked to develop patterns and practices to enable the department in transitioning our workloads to AWS. Developed cloud tooling for pipelines, Lambda helpers, CloudWatch logging to Splunk, and other shared infrastructure to help teams quickly get productive on AWS. Advocated for and led the weekly Friday cloud training program called CEF (Cloud Enablement Fridays) to help train engineers and empower teams in moving their workloads to the cloud. Insurance Self-Service Team: Developed and maintained the web applications that enable our million+ members to manage their insurance policies online using React, Node.JS, and deployed to Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF). Championed the engineering culture of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Extreme Programming (XP) practices. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to help prioritize and align our backlog to quickly deliver value for our members. Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews for four direct reports.

Establish the technical direction of all Larta’s software systems, allocate resources and budget, and architect scalable solutions to meet the growing needs of the company. A full-stack web developer responsible for designing, developing, and testing the Larta Portal, using a variety of tools, but predominately SQL Server, .NET, AngularJS, and serverless computing (Azure and AWS). Developed a messaging and meeting scheduling system for Larta managed events, deployed on both the web and as a native mobile app on iOS and Android. DevOps Engineer managing Larta’s IT infrastructure on the cloud and utilizing CD/CI tools. Lead, mentor, and train our engineering team.

Implemented a central web portal to manage the information of Larta’s programs and related websites using SQL Server, .NET, and Knockout.js. Built a project management system integrated with the portal to help with management tasks, operations, financials, and client communication. Technical lead for the vision of the company portal and affiliate websites.

Led the full lifecycle development of major client projects, collaborated with project managers, trained new hires, and supervised project milestones. Lead developer for CRG’s reusable component platform built using .NET. Part of the GIS developer team to build a website to calculate water savings.

Developed and maintained web applications for different departments within the university in Classic ASP.
