The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, located in midtown Detroit, is committed to the prevention, detection and eventual eradication of cancer. We are the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in metro Detroit and one of only 45 centers of its kind in the United States. We are considered among the nation's best cancer centers and the only center in Michigan solely dedicated to fighting cancer. We care for approximately 12,000 new patients annually on a budget of $260 million.
