For 30+ years — at BU, Harvard, Chicago Booth, and Emory — I've focused on the gap between technique and judgment: what the output means, what it doesn't mean, and what decision it actually supports. My courses, research, and writing are built around decisions rather than software. Real problems, incomplete data, competing priorities. The question I keep coming back to isn't how do you run the analysis — it's what do you do with it when the evidence isn't clean? That's where analytics gets interesting. And that's where I work. I publish in quantitative finance, teach Business Analytics and Strategy, and am finishing a book on moving from data to insight to defensible decisions.
