Founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization advancing teacher capacity-building, youth leadership, and educational innovation across the Caribbean. Lead institutional partnerships with schools, ministries, and community organizations to strengthen educational systems and develop locally relevant learning resources. Guided by a vision of education as a means for personal and societal transformation, Awenyo collaborates with schools, ministries, and community partners to design programs that awaken the potential within individuals and institutions alike. Our three lines of action are: Teacher Professional Development: Helping educators grow in confidence, creativity, and capacity to nurture the whole child. Youth Leadership & Empowerment: Encouraging young people to discover their inner resources and contribute to building more just and compassionate communities. Curriculum & Learning Materials: Developing locally relevant, values-based resources that integrate service, collaboration, and sustainability into learning. Through this collective effort, Awenyo strives to cultivate a generation of teachers and youth who see education not merely as instruction, but as a process of empowerment and social renewal.

Founder of a leadership and organizational capacity practice working with companies, NGOs, and educational institutions to strengthen leadership culture, clarify strategic direction, and build sustainable organizational systems. Our work focuses on leadership development, organizational diagnostics, facilitated learning processes, and culture-centered change initiatives. Engagements are tailored to each organization’s context, with an emphasis on practical application, values-based leadership, and long-term impact. In parallel, insights from leading a youth empowerment and teacher-development foundation inform my consulting approach—grounding it in real-world complexity, cross-cultural settings, and mission-driven environments. Based in Curaçao and working internationally, Levantto supports organizations seeking thoughtful, human-centered leadership development that translates into meaningful action.

Lead Project Researcher for the Linking Agricultural Research and Rural Radio in Africa project, with field visits to Uganda and Kenya.

With BMDA I worked on the co-ordination of research for the “Science, Religion and Development” project--an IDRC policy research project. The research led to the publication of the IDRC-sponsored book, The Lab, the Temple, and the Market.
