Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the execution of supply chain strategies to minimize transportation costs, optimize inventory, increase supply chain effectiveness and lower supply chain costs. Lead and coordinate projects focused on process improvement within the areas of Logistics. Lead and coordinate projects focused on development of the supply chain process and methods that allows the most efficient movement of goods. Identify process gaps and inefficiencies, establish and implement best practices that ensure continuous improvement of the supply chain.

A combination of supply chain specialist duties as well as analyst work. Posted at the company's Distribution Center, the primary focus is on collecting and analyzing supply chain data and then recommending improvements to boost operational performance and to reduce costs for the 400,000 square ft facility. Key Projects Include: -Creating and implementing a performance KPI tracker. -Creating a Distribution Centre Inventory and Shipment Forecast dashboard to help the GM and Operations manager plan labour and equipment needs. -Conducting analysis and providing recommendation on the various modes planned at the facility including: outbound Export, Rail and Truck, and inbound Barge and Rail. -Review procedures and measure results related to handling and facility damage. -Creating a culture of communication and openness by implementing a greater focus on communication between the facility, and the head office and mill site locations.

• Accountable for supervising all marine related activities including, barge and break-bulk vessel logistics for two mills and a distribution warehouse. • Prepares monthly budget and cost tracking reports, weekly and monthly shipping forecasts/schedules and helps facilitate carrier contract negotiations (RFPs). • Responsible for ensuring that all current transportation laws and safety regulations are followed. • Successfully managed the activities of 10 – 20 team members in multiple locations. • Designed and implemented an international export (container) shipping system from the Rumford paper mill by leading a team of subject matter experts towards developing the necessary system and business requirements. The new export system can now handle 160,000mt of international export paper orders through two 3rd party warehouses – one in Montreal and the other one in New Jersey. • Identifies and reports on cost improvement opportunities (KPI’s) related to all transportation modes. • Analyzes forecasted shipment volumes and ensures they support planned monthly sales estimates. • Manages quarterly reviews with all marine carriers for the company with a focus on safety, KPI’s and opportunities for improvement.

• Coordinated production trim for three paper machines at the Powell River Mill. • Optimized machine grade cycling and balanced cross machine allocations in conjunction with sales forecasts. • Acted as a single point of contact for sales, supply chain and mill operations to ensure smooth communication and execution of projects.

• Planned and created shipments that accommodated customer requirements and optimized equipment; these included trucks, railcars, and intermodal and container shipments. • Monitored third-party warehouse shipping to ensure on-time delivery. • Organized all monetary claims to do with damaged products or service disruptions. • Managed order exceptions post production and acted as a single point of contact for ship-to customers within an assigned geographical zone.

• Coordination of all non-sales activities in the store, this included the provision of management data reports to the Store Management team as well as Home Office. • Supervised Accounting, Receiving and HR administrative tasks performed by the Admin Specialist, Inventory Control Specialist and the Receiver. • Drove sales in four store categories by communicating with buyers, ensuring proper policies and procedures were in place, and coaching/directing department supervisors. • Led a team dedicated to store renovations consisting of both internal employees and external contractors.
