City of Phoenix Laboratory Services10/99 to 07/05 Promoted to Safety Analyst II for the Water Services Laboratory. Primary duties were to perform industrial hygiene duties for all 6 laboratories, training of new and current employees, waste disposal, coordinate between other departments in the city to ensure all labs meet city, state and federal requirements. Also assist other departments in industrial hygiene activities such as air monitoring, job and process hazard analysis, etc. Also assist in training of Water Services Personnel and other city departments.

Paint Formulating Chemist for Grigg's Paint (Part Time) Experimented with new resins and additives to develop new paints to meet customers' needs including Military Specifications. Also developed ways to recycle waste paint and solvents. Disposed of isocyanate waste resins.

City of Phoenix 12/86 to 2/91 Pretreatment Inspector and Chemist for the Water Services Department. Worked on the safety committee and worked part time as the safety officer for the laboratory. My main responsibility was to help bring the lab up to OSHA standards.and the sample Industrial Discharges to the sewer and to Waters of the US. Also help maintaine their non-hazardous liquid waste program

Maricopa County Landfill Department 5/85 to 12/86 Field Chemist. Responsible for developing and operating a non-hazardous liquid waste program at all county landfills. Also responsible for doing job hazard analysis and safety for this operation. Supervised two assistant chemists and maintained the field chemist budget.

Unidynamics 10/82 to 11/84 Powder/Process Chemist. I was responsible for the safe handling and distribution of explosives and pyrotechnics for aerospace projects. Also transported and disposed of explosive waste products.

City of Phoenix 07/05 to 10/31/13 (Retired) Lateral Transfer to Safety Analyst II for the Water Services Department. Primary duties are to maintain the departments safety program. These include but are not limited to the departments CDL program, respiratory and hearing conservation programs and several others. Perform industrial hygiene duties such as air monitoring, ergonomic evaluations and noise monitoring. Develop and provide training for new and current employees, coordinate between other departments in the city to ensure we are meeting all current safety standards. Also assist other departments in any safety needs such as site assessments, training, job and process hazard analysis, etc. Also to perform confined space assessments for the department. Perform 5 Star audits and inspections every six months. Currently a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association's (AIHA) registry program and trainer for the 4 gas and Photo Ionization Detector (PID) registry program. I am also a newly appointed convener for the ISO Real Time Gas Monitoring Committee for Work Group 3.
