• Responsible in assisting with the design, development, and implementation of the Biomedical Engineering Program. The program consists of managerial, administrative, and engineering elements such as providing project management services, expert advice, consultation, and guidance for the medical center. • Lead or delegate project management services for all medical equipment projects in the medical center. • Led group to specify, procure, and evaluate more than $35M of high tech/high cost medical equipment for a 1.2M sq. ft. replacement hospital. • Dedicated Biomedical Engineer in charge of medical equipment planning for 1.2M sq. ft. replacement hospital. • Active member on multiple national level, field based advisory boards and workgroups. The focus of these groups includes establishing national level standards and providing guidance for the documentation of Biomedical Engineering services as well as identifying requirements specific to Biomedical Engineering for the implementation of a new computerized maintenance management system across the VA.

• Supported and advanced patient care by applying engineering and managerial skills to health care technology. • Responsibilities included financial or budgetary management, service contract management, data processing systems for managing medical equipment, and project management to support the facilities in VISN 23. • Lead technical project manager assigned to the VISN-wide Tele ICU initiative; Responsible for the installation and implementation of a system to monitor over 70 ICU beds across 5 states.

• Worked on multiple new hospital construction projects, including a 1.25 million sq. ft. replacement hospital and various urban highrise and suburban medical centers. • Responsibilities included a variety of services throughout the planning design, construction, and migration phases for the entire technology infrastructure. • Clinical Engineering point of contact responsible for developing the medical equipment needs of clients, with the help of the clinicians, nurses, and end users. • Worked closely with the medical device consultants in medical device technology evaluations, and was instrumental in the design of the Healthcare IT infrastructure to support the implementation of new networked medical devices and systems.
