Responsible for coordinating program activities related to Global Health. Actively seeks new opportunities for partnerships and funding in Global Health and helps maintain existing partnerships. Participates in the development of grant proposals and scientific articles. Represents SPH and Office of Special Programs and Global Health as a team leader at international activities when appropriate and as directed. Collects and tabulates data relevant to individual project activities. Provides some supervision of Graduate Assistants. Assists in the development and delivery of Community Health Worker certified trainings, as required. Serves as an on-site facilitator at meetings where Spanish is the preferred language. Serves as a translator/cultural expert for activities conducted in and for areas where Spanish is the preferred language.

Coordinates with University departments for successful completion of program requirements for all students, including academic and professional advising of Bilingual Health Care Studies students and mentoring students in one or more foreign languages. Utilizes SHSU standards and tools to academic procedures and operations of healthcare practices with ability to recommend changes to improve curricula and practice. Facilitates internship site search and agreements. Plan and implement training programs of grant projects. Plan, develop, implements, coordinates and monitors Bilingual Health Care Studies service learning and study abroad programs.

Collaborated and served as liaison with providers and vendors on contracts and EHR implementation process with ability to identify concerns and/or issues helping to achieve agreeable resolutions. Established and maintained open communication with potential and established client base, i.e., providers and staff on REC services. Undertook project analysis and consulting assignments as requested by Program Manager. Utilized REC developed standards and tools to analyze systems, procedures, and operations of healthcare practices with ability to recommend changes to improve practice. Facilitated cross-functional unit discussions between leadership, members, and staff. Assisted with technical assistance in implementing health it and using it in a meaningful way to improve care.

Led the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies to reach a 10-15% student registration INCREASE in 2012. Developed operational and financial procedures in coordination with Regional staff. Enhanced communications and coordination both within the local staff and providers and across the program with US headquarters. Helped prepare and supervise the annual budget for regional program(s). Develop, review and update the budget and strategic planning documents for major program initiatives in the region. Represent CACHAMSI in marketing events and other public forums, as needed. Oversee the accounting procedures in the USA and Ecuador. Develop and oversee a board development strategy.

Designed curriculum material and methodology for Promotores (Community Health Workers) Training (Modules in Spanish and English). Facilitated training to approximately 200 Promotores (Community Health Workers) in five sites in South Texas. Conducted computer research covering demographics, health statistics and health care provider accessibility issues in rural counties in Texas. Assisted Project Manager in grant develpment for Office of Special Programs. Compiled information in databases for literature reviews on public health infrastructure and practice.

Lead the implementation for integrated field interventions with 4 components: water sanitation, strengthening of local government, income generation and integrated conservation and development. Directed Natural Resources component, including the preparation of its operative plan and its annual budget worth USD 2.5 –3 million per year. Coordinated implementation activities with 5 partners. Supervised field administration and logistics at regional office which involves a team of 25 technical and administrative personnel. Directly supervised 3-6 technicians and 6 administrative team workers Responsible for the compliance the contracts with sub grantees, donors, counterparts and Care-USA. Responsible for ensuring CARE-Ecuador’s strategic objectives as established in its long term strategic plan: Partnership, Gender Equity and Environment Mitigation Measures. Facilitated access to technical and management advice and guidance to the local nonprofit and community based organizations.

Manage technical and administrative implementation of two institutional strengthening programs for 25 local NGOs and 44 small economic activity projects.
