As a Tintype Studio Assistant, I worked alongside an experienced tintype photographer, Sam Dole, learning the intricate process of this historic photographic technique. I assisted in both studio and on-location shoots, gaining hands-on experience in mixing chemicals, preparing plates, and ensuring clean, high-quality tintypes. This role deepened my understanding of analog photography, darkroom processes, and the chemistry behind wet plate collodion. It also strengthened my ability to work in dynamic environments, problem-solve on the spot, and preserve the artistry of handcrafted image-making.

I was an apprentice to an experienced photographer, Terrie Alfieri, immersing myself in both the creative and business sides of photography. I gained hands-on experience in shooting and editing while also learning the behind-the-scenes work of running a successful photography business—client communication, booking, marketing, and workflow management. This apprenticeship gave me the technical skills to create high-quality images and the knowledge to build a business that prioritizes meaningful client relationships and authentic storytelling. It shaped my approach to photography, blending artistry with intentionality to capture images that truly resonate.
