I am a third year Computer Science and Graphic Design major at the university of Utah. With technology, and the help from my CS degree, I know my future will not only be bright, but loud. I am hearing impaired and and every time I struggle to hear I am reminded to embrace life, push my limits, and reach out to others. This desire is the reason I am part of the Student Government and work as a Resident Advisor. I want to share my love of learning and encourage others to push past the things that hinder them, to embrace their struggles, and to reach their potential. The only limits on our ability to achieve are the ones we place on ourselves. I hope one day to create hearing aids that are on the cutting edge of technological advances. Eleven percent of Americans need hearing aids, and only a third of those even have them. I envision a world where hearing aids are commonplace and work with a wide variety of devices. I will use my degree in Computer Science to create better hearing devices and ultimately help others overcome the same issues I have had.
