- Plan, organize and orientate the new staff of emergency department. - Facilitate continued professional development of the staff by organizing nurses to attend the mandatory training offers in the hospital such as IV therapy, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, interpretation of ECG rhythm and many more. - Provide and facilitate formal and informal teaching in the clinical setting and classroom when needed. - Responsible for staff education of new equipment. - Assessing nurses for their clinical skills generic and unit specific competencies to promote patient safety and quality of care. - Providing appraisal for the new and re-contracting staff. - Identify educational needs and develop relevant educational activities to support critical thinking, professional growth and clinical competence. - Provide direct clinical support, instruction and supervision to members of staff. - Adhere to and support all defined standards, processes, policies and procedure - Restructuring resuscitation room in the area. - Participate in the evaluation of teaching, learning experiences and staff development programs. - Always Ensuring confidentiality according to the hospital policy. - Liaise with Biomed & facilities engineer for the equipment and other things that are not working and need to be repair in the department. - Responsible in doing the duty rota of nurses in the department. - Decontamination Instructor - ACLS instructor - Member of Policy and procedure committee for nurses. - Ensuring nurses are giving quality patient care. - Providing bed side care to the patient when needed

- Take charge of the unit for 8 hours day and night shift in the absence of nurse supervisor. - Responsible for the orientation of new staff in the department. - Responsible in doing staff duty rostering electronically. - Preceptor for new staff in emergency department and clinician for 2nd and 4th year nurse students of RCSI. - Involve in different clinical audit in the department. - Have the ability to plan and organize team in emergency situation. - Manage the nursing staff and patient care for the duration of assigned work period. - Monitor and ensures that incident reports are completed and reported per policy and procedure. - Proven record of reliability and responsibility. - Possess special sensitivity in meeting diverse needs in varied situations. - Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situation. - Develop rapport with patients, family, physicians and colleagues. - Relates well to people from variety of culture. - Triaging patients using Canadian Triage system.

- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
