Melody Culanag has both an engineering and interior design background. Her passion for lighting began in Singapore doing commercial, industrial, academic, residential and hospitality projects and has more than 15 years of experience in the lighting industry. When she moved to Canada, she recognized the need for Professionals working with light. Melody knew she needed to learn from the best in the world in order to achieve this reputation and guiding principle. In 2015, she studied Masters Degree in Architectural Lighting Design and Design Management, completed with distinction at Hochschule Wismar/Wismar University in Germany. She is committed to work and explore issues with regards to night environments and to advocate quality lighting design through a collaborative and holistic approach in every project; addressing socio-cultural, environmental, and economic factors which is beyond the traditional quantitative approach. Speaker: Embracing Urban Nightscape Through Light, IESNA-Winnipeg Luncheon, 2018 Melody, together with 4 other lighting designers, were shortlisted out of 85 entries in the PLDC’s 2017 International Future Urban Lighting Design Competition in Paris France Melody is also the founder and owner of LightandMe. A 3D visualization studio doing photo-realistic renderings, animations, and virtual tours which I believe will be great for your marketing, pre-selling, and client presentations for residential, multi-family, and modular homes, industrial, commercial, hospitality, and hi-rise projects.
