Advocacy is vital to the March of Dimes to advance the mission through public policies, programs and funding. We help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies. In local communities across the country, we're helping moms take charge of their health, and supporting families when something goes wrong. The March of Dimes also acts globally: sharing best practices in perinatal health and helping improve birth outcomes where the needs are the most urgent. I am responsible over the largest revenue generating event, March for Babies. The money we raise during March for Babies supports programs in our community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. We’ve been walking since 1970 and have raised an incredible $2.3 billion to benefit all babies. This year we have a goal to raise 1 million dollars in San Antonio and with the help of our internal team, business community, family teams, and friends; we plan on making this goal a reality.
