About

Melissa discovered her passion of learning and sharing healthy lifestyle tips while healing from Hodgkins lymphoma. She loves all things outdoors which began at a young age camping and grew more while getting her degree in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State University in Northern California. After moving to Southern California, getting married and having kids, she discovered her true passion of mentoring youth while coaching high school running, teaching outdoor science and volunteering in classrooms, sports, etc. She eventually went on to become a Certified Health Coach and Healthy Hands Cooking Instructor. Melissa teaches kids healthy cooking classes on a weekly basis. When not teaching, she can be found running, in the kitchen making meals (and cleaning up her mess!), researching the lateset and greatest health info, on the track with hubby, or spending time with her awesome family (Liam, their two boys, Micah and Lucan, and two dogs, Teddy and Gidget). Every new day can be an exciting new source of inspiration and adventure!

All Healthy Hands Cooking Classes are educational based to teach your child about healthy choices they can make at home. All HHC classes follow the same format by starting with a nutrition game or activity followed by hands-on cooking/food preparation and clean up. In an intimate setting of no more than 10 kids per class, your child will gain the skills and confidence to make healthy choices for a lifetime of wellness!
