With over 15 years’ experience in global pharmaceutical companies and over 10 years in Ophthalmology at Roche across strategic marketing, business, and leadership functions, it is a great privilege to be working alongside highly creative and dedicated teams who are really pushing the boundaries of science to provide truly inclusive and sustainable healthcare solutions and technologies. As Head of the Ophthalmology therapeutic area at Roche, I'm passionate about delivering transformative treatments that help to address the needs of people living with vision loss, as well as their friends, families, and society as a whole. We are focussed on making scientific advancements now, but also laying the foundations for further innovations in the coming years. I go to work every day driven by working in such an important therapy area where, despite significant advances in treatment over the past decade, there remains a considerable unmet need, particularly in retinal conditions such as diabetic macular oedema (DME), age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and retinal vein occlusion (RVO). Before working in Ophthalmology, I worked in geographic atrophy, multiple sclerosis (MS), and neurodegenerative diseases. I am excited to be playing a part in an industry on the cusp of something great that could improve the lives of millions of people around the world.
