Managed a team of program managers and research associates conducting genetics studies for a variety of disease- and ancestry-specific research programs. Enrolled over 50,000 research participants, including over 3,000 individuals with rare diseases. Coordinated cross-functionally with a variety of internal teams, including therapeutics, product R&D, medical affairs, regulatory, legal/privacy, marketing, laboratory operations, finance, and others to plan, track, and communicate project progress. Oversaw a pipeline of projects that supported 23andMe’s drug discovery, development, and clinical trials programs. Managed product R&D activities, whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, external research collaborations, research marketing and recruitment, and software engineering workstream planning. Maintained extensive knowledge of 23andMe’s portfolio of consumer products, research initiatives, and drug development efforts.

Researched genetic associations with diabetes and obesity in the Pima community. Sequenced and genotyped human DNA; assisted in the extraction and expression analysis of microRNA from human adipose tissue. Proficient in Sanger sequencing, SNPlex, BeadXpress, PCR, NanoDrop, gel electrophoresis.
