• Manage the store during my shifts, assisting customers, dealing with complaints/issues, and delegating tasks to employees • Complete end of day tasks on the computer and registers, handling large sums of money on a daily basis

Organized and submitted merchandise orders, answered phone calls,  organized POS product information, created flyers for events, and ran the  store in the absence of the owner 

• Completed multiple lines of training to become Companion Animal Specialist in Replies, Small Animals, Dogs/Cats, Aquatics, and Birds • Cared for store animals and treated animals when ill (under veterinary direction) • Interacted with customers and helped guide them towards the best choices • Organized “Meet the Critters” events, and educated community members about various types of animals, including various types of reptiles, mammals, and fish

Student Teaching - Bloomsburg Area School District - Middle School Prepared lessons for 7th grade Language Arts, 3 classes each day (6 periods, block schedule) •Proactively managed discipline problems by instituting classroom procedures immediately upon arrival in the classroom •Participated in a Parent/Teacher conference, 7th grade “team” meetings, and faculty meetings •Cooperated with other faculty members in planning lessons •Utilized technology in every lesson, with a variety of resources such as PowerPoint presentations, Smart Board interaction, internet video clips, review games (Jeopardy), and music. •Made on the spot decisions, and modified and adjusted lessons according to student needs Student Teaching—Bloomsburg Area School District, High School — (Fall 2010) • Prepared lesson plans for 7 class periods each day, including Creative Writing Honors, 11th & 12 grade; Communication Studies, and Communication Studies Honors, 10th grade •Managed the classroom environment by fostering mutual respect and honesty with students •Utilized technology in classroom lessons, and encouraged students to interact. Examples are: Interactive PowerPoint presentations, review games (tic-tac-toe, hangman etc), videos, music, SmartBoard use, websites, and GoogleDocs. • Interacted with parents and staff in the organization of the annual 10th grade field trip to Penn College. •Cooperated with other Bloomsburg High School faculty in planning lessons •Chaperoned a group of students on the annual 10th grade field trip to Penn College

Oversaw large editorial, promotion, advertising, and circulation staffs,  and edited articles for placement in the magazine or web site. Evaluated  staff on editorial performance, and consulted with the Editor-In-Chief,  and other editors throughout production,as well as researched my own articles. 

Graduate Assistant — Education Department — (Fall 2009-Summer 2010) • Acted as the Executive Editor of Spectrum Magazine, a regional magazine

•Promoted Residence Life's policies of Caring, Respect, Integrity, and Dedication •Managed administrative and programming duties in the building •Guided resident students in making responsible choices in college. •Strengthened student’s sense of community in the residence halls. •Assisted CAs, AHDs, and GHDs in incidents occurring in the residence halls •Fostered an open channel of communication amongst students and staff.
